Announce: SMaL RAW -> Adobe DNG Utility v0.90 I've finished the first release of a utility to convert SMaL RAW to Adobe DNG: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=134210&package_id=188795
There are two downloads - one with the prebuilt Windows .EXE and one with the source code. There is a release notes/documentation file too.
Using this you could download the .raw files from your camera, convert to DNG format and then directly load into Photoshop or IrfanView.
I'll make a v1.00 after a brief period of feedback and/or suggestions.

SMaL2DNG is Looking good!
I've only run a few -*test*-('")s but smal2dng appears flawless.
However the release notes incorrectly specifies SMAL2RAW instead of SMAL2DNG. Low grade on documentation. :P
It also works well with my Flatofoto 3mp raw files. 8)

You only found one typo in v0.9 docs? Sounds pretty good to me. :D My original name for this was RAW2DNG - but that's the name of Adobe's utility for converting multiple RAW formats to DNG, so I changed.
The RAW reading software is just the PV2RAW code I wrote before - which was -*test*-('")ed with FlatFoto 3MP files... No surprises there I hope.
This utility adds a different processing path for converting SMaL RAW files to something which your regular image processing software can read directly.

The smal2raw in the docs threw me at first, but I got it figured out :)
Works good, although I only got my first PV2 the other day (CVS Blue 6550)

I would like to try this, even though I don't have a suitable camera!
I would like to download one or more raw files, if there is a suitable location.
Please?
BillW, Thanks for that. Nice work Sailpix!
(I noticed that AntiAliasStrength = 0.00 in the ones I tried. Is that normal for these cameras?)

Here's some sample RAW files from various SMaL cameras that should work with Sailpix's converter: http://camerahacking.mine.nu/phils/demanufacturing/pv2/www/billw/pv2fetch/
I take it that the photos with .ff2 were converted with Flatfoto, and the .pv2f0 were with pv2 fetch.
if so the Flatfoto seems to be sharper, W/better color.

Here is a suggestion to enable the DNGs to be opened by more products.
Run the DNGs from SMaL2DNG through the Adobe DNG Converter, trying various options. The DNG Converter will read them, then regenerate them according to Adobe standards for the chosen options.
I just found that Silkypix doesn't like the DNGs from SMaL2DNG, but when I tried a combination of DNG Converter parameters, I think it was "linear", it opened them and converted them to TIFF.
I haven't a clue what products will support which options!

If anyone figures out specifics about what needs changing in the DNG files which SMaL2DNG creates in order to be more widely readable... lemme know. I'd like to create .DNG files which are readable everywhere - but without feedback about what file information some apps require...
