Another 8-bit hacking candidate
Comes in a keychain picture display device. http://spritesmods.com/?art=picframe&page=1 Info on processor believed to be in above device. http://www.sitronix.com.tw/sitronix/product.nsf/Doc/ST2205U?OpenDocument Tools for said processor! http://www.sitronix.com.tw/tools_ST2205U.htm I wonder what other (cheaper and/or better) devices use sitronix processors.

I stumbled across this again and ordered a 'similar looking one' off eBay ($11, Hong Kong, woo!). I'm considering packing this tiny LCD behind a 35mm film camera lens (disposable?) and put a few LEDs behind the LCD and have a very-small-not-very-bright-very-low-res projector, perhaps to use with the Openmoko, assuming it ever gets released. Small projector only makes sense on a small device like that :)

Mine came in the mail today. After an hour of dealing with ubuntu and a library trouble I threw in a Fedora Live CD and got stuff compiled, and believe my luck mine isn't supported (although it's similar hardware). After decompiling the firmware and going through it tediously and adding compatibility for my model and...the custom FW didn't work.... So I'm kinda SOL right now trying to get this thing to work...bah. On a high note there is a wiki for this now: http://picframe.spritesserver.nl/wiki/index.php/Main_Page EDIT: Hrk...it is supported the "HK nameless" but mine has slightly different firmware...odd.
