any other IR hack/mods?
ok so i know the cvs cams have an IR filter in them, I have the m230 and it is said to have a coated lens in it...so if I made an exposed film lens cover and did some IR LEDs on it, would that cancel out the IR filter and give some IR feedback? I would like to be able to use both regular and IR modes without trashing the only cam I have untill I get another one.... There is another method that involves gel shades for stage lights, 2 red gels over 1 blue gel, under 2 more red gels give an IR effect for making goggle type viewing...so if you made a little gel cap patch would it be enough to block light and give IR response you think? I could always try it and let you guys know, but till i get film what do you guys think??? Thanks 8)

it will NOT work, because that coating that you're removing is the ir filter itself. once light travels to the coating, ir is blocked, that's it. you can't "regain" light that has already been reflected away.
