--shakes head-- eep. unless python has access to libusb, i don't think so. anyways, i don't think XBMC runs a libusb stack...it interfaces with win2k...so you'd be better off asking billw if he can port ops to openxdk. um... Python CAN access USB stacks with libusb and the pyusb module. there it is not a built in feature of python so you will need to compile it yourself on the box you will be running the python program. I have never had any experience using pyusb because of the poor documentation.

sadly enough, that's not the real issue. the python interpreter within xbmc must have a usb interface that is common to the standard python interpreter for it to work. i have no clue as to how that one is implemented. i know that normal python has usb .

I always thought they were, just with a little plastic shape around it.

nono, the problem isn't the hardware , but is the software. i don't know if the python interpreter embedded within xbmc supports usb transactions.

I am pretty new at Linux. Have had my cams downloading in windows for a while so I know they work. I am trying avidownload in my Linux, Kubunu, install and getting the following: INFO: Closing any opened devices... INFO: Open devices closed. INFO: Scanning USB bus 0 ... INFO: USB device with VID: 0x167b, PID: 0x0101 on bus 0 INFO: Device found: VID: 0x167B, PID: 0x0101 ERROR: Device could not be opened. Unplug and try again. Could it be my key file? I copied the keys from the challenge on my Windows box into a file .saturnkeys in my home on my Linux box. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Captain Obvious- 08-22-2007

Hi Folks, Does someone have a Windows executable already, or can you explain the best way to compile the files to get one? Thanks!

SaturnNiGHTS- 08-22-2007

heh...well...fas-*test*-('") way would be to set up a cygwin environment with libusb-dev and gcc installed, and use the included build script. it's in the pipeline...but non-programming things are taking precedence at the moment. it will be done in the future, though.
