avidownload [linux/win32 app, currently version 0.5] i wrote/hacked/stripped an application that runs from any console, connects to the camcorder, uses a saturn keylist saved in the home directory to unlock the camcorder, and extracts all videos to the harddrive.
nobu@blackdeth:~/pure_digital/saturn/avidownload/source$ ls
avidownload close_camcorder.c download_file.c open_camcorder.c readwrite.c update_directory_listing.c

i sent source code and an example compiled executable for i386. i'll -*test*-('") it on my debian linux installation on my 1st gen ibook and see if the source also works for ppc. fingers crossed.
EDIT: i haven't the fogginess with endianness concerning these cams on a different platform. sorry...my cross stuff that i build is normally isolated from endian issues...i try to avoid it. um...anyone interested in a ppc port?
EDIT 2: as of now, it will overwrite files named the same if they exist in the directory, without warning. be careful...working on that...one of my friends brought that up.

well...even after such a short period of time...like a couple of hours...i emailed enigma avidownload 0.2. you can now wipe the cam after the videos are downloaded. it was a big feature i needed. hopefully someone else likes this app.
nice tool. the downloading all files works and works well. I will have to implement that into ops-for-linux. Thanks for the nice app!

*ry.david updates OCS to 0.7 to include avidownload* its a linux app. Oneclicksetup is only for windows, right?

Yea, well that sucks...
SaturnNiGHTS- 10-13-2006
the only thing it relies on is libusb. i see no reason that this can't be ported to a win32 console app. directory handling/defaults would have to be changed, but that's about it...
thank you very much for your support!

...why didn't anyone tell me that i was duplicating work with this? i just found "SaturnDownload" and it sounds identical to my app...
BillW- 10-31-2006
Saturndownload hasn't been maintained for quite a while, only works with 3.xx models, and has no keylist capability... Why would we even mention it since you've surpassed it's feature set?
SaturnNiGHTS- 10-31-2006
oh...--nervous grin--
well, okay then.
i'll get to work on making the code endian-neutral...it's bugging me that i can run it on my tablet and my latitude, but not my ibook.
EDIT: typo

do you think that may have anything to do with saturnchallenger not working on macs? if you would, could you please try saturnchallenger on your ibook (if it is running linux?)
