''Blue error screen'' popping up when I click open camcorder Okay, not sure if this problem has come up before, but I recently bought a CVS camera, and I did the hack and unlocked the camera. As soon as I unlocked it, I downloaded a video to see the quality of the camera. And the quality is very good. So I tried downloading another video the next day, but when I clicked ''open camcorder'', a blue error screen pops up saying that I need to shut down my computer right away or somthing can happen with the physical memory on my computer or something. Anyway, I have windows XP, and i'm using the OPS 21 program to download the videos. Is there anyway I can fix this problem? I don't want my computer to crash...
Thanks....

Check your usb connection and your driver's. Something is causing the blue screen of death. But it could also be a computer related issue.

Thanks for the reply. Everything seems to be working fine, but the blue screen is still popping up. It's weird beacause I already loaded in a video, and clicked on the ''open camera'' button about 100 times without that stupid blue screen popping up. I am about to throw the camera out... it's getting me pissed off.

Any other suggestions on how I can fix this problem?

Which libusb version are you using? I used to get the same thing with earlier versions on certain computers.

How can I find out which version I am using?
I'm not too good with computers...
Thanks.

The easiest way I know of to check libusb version is to run the -*test*-('") program that is in the same program files directory as libusb. At the top I believe it will show the version that is running.

or you could just install the complete la-*test*-('") version. im not sure what version that is

I have had problems like this before. It definitely seemed to be a driver issue. Make sure you uninstall everything related to libUSB and reboot your machine. I am using the 1.10.1 version (which seems to be the most compatible for me). Install those drivers and reboot again just to be safe. Before connecting the camera, check your cable connection one last time for shorts or just bad soldering (not sure what kind of cable you are using).
Use the la-*test*-('") version of OPS (23 right?) and hope it works.
