The la-*test*-('") patent 6,903,670 was just granted on June 07, 2005 and filed on June 29, 2003. At that rate compression/decompression patent may not be granted until July 2006 - however rate of processing is speeding up. My wife, who works at MIT. has mentioned some certificate problems lately. In fact, she couldn't send me email at the end of the day Thursday because of something like that. OTOH. I can get to the thesis via either link ... go figure ...
