Camcorder as motion detector
Who will be the first to re-purpose the camcorder as a motion detector or possibly a motion detector that also records when motion is detected? I am not talking about the relatively trivial addition of a PIR (or other) motion sensor to trigger the camcorder, but a patch to the firmware to detect motion and begin recording when detected. For that matter would the pv2 asic be fast enough to detect motion?

I have a couple of ADT infrared motion sensors that are made to drive a pic12c508 mcu, could probably repurpose it to toggle the record button... Might be too hard to implement it in the firmware, the Coach definitely has enough horsepower to recognize movement if it can encode DIVX video real-time.
