I don't know of any cameras that function as a USB host and write to a USB drive plugged into them. They may be out there, but I haven't researched it.
The pv2 and other SMaL cameras probably could be made to have this functionality. It would require rewriting the USB stack on the camera to function as a host and then adding a USB jack to the camera. Changing it to host mode would be easy enough for someone who has access to the VUSB-HOST firmware source code. For those of us without such information, we can continue to attempt sufficient understanding of the VUSB device implementation in the SMaL cameras along with a sufficient understanding of the USB protocol in order to rewrite the firmware without benefit of any source code.
