Cant Unlock CVS 410 with 08 Challenge
edit: thanks to all the tipsters, i managed to unlock it using the "Legal Single Cam" technique (had to switch to a Bic pen instead of the multimeter probe, and worked in the first try). i just got a CVS 410 camcorder. tried to unlock with cronuskey response and its not unlocking. i am pretty sure its something i am doing wrong but dont know what... here is my pv2keys.txt from cronus. S CronusKey C 08b9a6d0ee7435252e389b20f3022dd6d3a1d498a423b2103e8d098e82cf599c C 9cf6c9d884a4c803cbbdf45594643b13e126406410740061a557b56b495ffbc1 C 13dd3151075122cfdc26e405039d016ae408d5f56b383733c3385c98613cf713 C 45d4a5e47c6589b2eada33d84697c70166ae5bf4bd56a0b12299c5bcd24c98b9 R 352dd12d59b35f113e008d1d02dc7030fa52315efafbf0d42d15fb98798ecf87 R 4fbbb16433fd3c795252d50dbb1f9ad786583484937b8e2b1d0489bad4e1f757 R c909a5242e2632fdb3e17ca97a4f2cad1885c8d103425f00dd3a0abf4242286e R 1a38335b4770729cf3ab4ff49611d6b8c4f14a09983afa156e05b69652bf9610 PV2Tool matches the challenge key with cronuskey and then complains "key failed for challenge". then it lists the whole challenge key as a pair of nos on each line as follows (what does it do that for)?? 08 B9 A6 .. and so on. anyone know whats going one here?

oh great... first i buy the camcorder (after reading the forums) only to find out that the "blue" ones dont work. and now this after getting a 410 model... who can help me with a keycatch (or whatever its called) from the keystation.

nicknaggriff- 06-29-2007

you could try the shorting method described in the link.... only the blue ones? blue cameras work.... i think ur confusing the PV2 with a CAMCORDER. for camcorders, no. the blue sticky`d cams dont work, yet. as far as i know the only PV2`s that are not unlockable are 510`s. for you,.... try the shorting method, but remember... there is a risk of killing the thing.

Some clairifaction The shorting method that is being refered to is Legal Single Camera method - Is for Still cameras PV2's & not the OUT OF DATE one for camcorders RED/Blue (depending on where you buy) Model 410 Still Cameras are PV2's & can be hacked and very hard to kill, The updated cameras have an 08 challenge and will not unlock with any current cronus program. Model 510 has not been hacked. Camcorders with a Blue (New longer battery life) sticker are much harder to hack. Camcorders with blue (NEW) sticker or a Red stickers are a easily opened. Now to hack the still camera you can use the easy at home Legal Single Camera method forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=339" target="_blank">http://camerahacks.10.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=339 For the Camcorder go to forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=5209" target="_blank">http://camerahacks.10.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=5209

until i get to the shorting procedure trial-and-error, is there any way to identify the older cameras that are unlocakble by cronus, AT the time of purchase?

Ask the photo tech if you can buy one of the returns - show how to perform a Vulcan nerve pinch and then only buy one that has 6550 or 6520 show up as firmware. If you are lucky you may now also have found a CVS good Samartin (without a Van). Another added benefit(?) is you can now play role of Robin Williams as Sy in the movie One Hour Photo.

the Photo Guy. do u mean "one hour photo"? i hope he dosnt play that guy.... that movie was disturbing

the Photo Guy. do u mean "one hour photo"? i hope he dosnt play that guy.... that movie was disturbing Whoops, Yes. Disturbing - Yes again. Is Pure Digital in any way liable if the processing station fails to delete pictures or videos on returned cameras and camcorders? How much did PD pay (if anything) for legal consultation when they threatened this site with a court case? Does PD make their own design decisions or are they contracting out all the programming? Are there any PD programming employees that visit these forums? Unless there is just one of you, you should feel free to answer with an appropriate pseudonym from a library somewhere in San Francisco. forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=3690" target="_blank">http://camerahacks.10.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=3690
