Challenge range of 01 - 12 From another topic I found what seemed to be a fairly up-to-date list of challenge types
I think it's pretty likely it's a new algorithm, though an unsuccesful brute force would prove that... it wouldn't take too much effort or time, except for gathering the 09 challenge+response.
If you assume that the 510 uses a 05 challenge, the pattern might be:01 - ?
02 - pv2
03 - M100 + some saturn's
04 - saturn
05 - M510
06 - ? (new algo)
07 - pv2 (new algo)
08 - M100 (new algo)
09 - saturn (new algo)
10 - M510 (new algo)
BurningMan gives the error "Challenge is out of 01-12 range... aborting!" for challenges beginning with zero as well as those beginning with 10, 11, and 12 and likely beyond.
Which cameras have the 01 challenge? Can any additions/corrections be made to the above list?
Do we need to wait for BurningMan v2.0 for challenges 10, 11, and 12?

Burningman will run 10, 11, and 12 already. They have to be entered in their hex form. Such as 0a, 0b and 0c. I just -*test*-('")ed it to be sure.

Woops!
Thanks CamCam for pointing that out.
Have any cameras or camcorders been found in the stores with 0a, 0b, or 0c challenges?
If not, do the PD processing stations also know the algorithm for 0a, 0b and 0c challenges?
If so, how do we account for the fact that BurningMan can even unlock cameras that have not been released yet?

Could the 01 challenge have been in the original walgreens cams?

Has anyone tried BurningMan on a m100?

If we knew the interface better.

We could if we knew how the M100's communication's work. To date I don't think anyone has gotten any usb commands to work with a M100. I have personally unlocked one using an extended unlock, but it did not yield anything usable. Once unlocked they function as a mass storage device. If the firmware could be altered, I'm sure it could be set to permanently be a mass storage device. The only visible files on the camcorder when unlocked are the vids, the challenge file (which is 03 I believe) and a configuration file that controls the imager. The config file was cool and knowing the challenge prefix but that was about it.
