Changing or silencing sounds on new camcorders Im new here but i have a hacked 230 fw 53.12 with its my own screens.
When trying to change the sounds , i killed my camera and resurrected it.
How do i make these "dummy" files or how do get other working files?
Does anyone have working files that i could try?
thank you

Please define "killed" and "resurrected'. By killed, or bricked, on this forum, it is usually meant, AFAIK, that the cam will not boot/startup under either usb connection w/OPS or battery power.
were you able to access the file structure under OPS to correct the changes you made?please explain the method/symptoms of your customization error and how you corrected it. Thanks!

the camera froze at my shutdown.jpg... i downloaded the flash and fixed it.
there wasnt a black screen which is how it usually happens.
right now, i found a solution. I edit the files so they are more quiet. they become only slightly bigger than the originals and they work..
is it possible to actually change the file?

i took the "safer" route and installed a switch on the side of my cam. flicking the switch disconnects power to the speaker.

^^ Thats a good idea. Can we see a wiring diagram?

Wiring diagram?....cut the wire and put a switch in there

here you go :). its pretty simple.
i also included a diagram of a cam with a mic/onboard port.

That's pretty cool. It is pretty hard to hear the sounds recorded using the internal speaker. And incorporating an external microphone port would make it so you get more when you record a video, because the internal microphone is sensitive to a point, but most soft sounds aren't picked up by the internal mic.
