if you have turned down all the settings without having a quality that you are happy with, you're better off getting another camcorder and switching them out midrun.

Last September, I used two cvs cams for my uncle's wedding. I thought about it and decided I would use one set low for the majority of the footage and one set high for the ceremony. I cut it close with the high one, ran out just after ceremony ended. The other one had some problems, cause I didn't get nearly as much footage as I should have at that quality. Anyways, they were really happy with the video. Moral of the story is: I used one set high for important stuff, and one lower for less important stuff.

well, this guy's trying to record long length of the same type of event, no specific emphasis on beginning, middle or end. so, same record time, same bitrate across both for sprinter.

I got it to work i just don't know were i would be better off with the highest resolution and medium bitrate or bring down teh resolution a lil so i can use a higher bitrate i am fine with teh 32 minutes i have at the setting i set it at I forgot i will post them when i plug it back in and check. i have the highest resolution and medium bitrate. and yes i can not stop anytime in the middle its a constant 20 minutes of racing. accept for specialty weekends witch are 30 laps and can be a long long race. we stop in teh middle for a sec on the track to refuel and maby if you whant to a tire or 2.

did you get 32 minutes recording an example race, or a static wall? action changes everything.

o sorry i thaught i told you but i didn't i reamember typing it but it was as an email. yea i foundout it was a bad conection and i held it on the cord for 7 minutes and downloaded all 21 minutes of teh vid it was around 100 megabytes and since it downloaded teh hole thing without any prolems it had no glitches and it was fine.

ok thanks alot for all of your help guys i got it working realy good now. I had teh cord shortened and what a difference. I played with all of teh bitrate settings on the best resolution and best bitrate settings on the second to best resolution and recorded to see how much time i got. hear they are. these are approximate. Cvs camcorder settings 640x480 resolution and 1024 ultra high got 8.5 minutes 640x480 resolution and 512…superhigh (m225 default) got 18:49 640x480 resolution and 384…high got 19 minutes 640x480 resolution and 256…med (rca default) got 30:39 640x480 resolution and 127…low (otu default) got 24.20 576x432 resolution and 512…superhigh (m225 default) got 32 minutes 576x432 resolution and 1024…ultrahigh got 27 minutes y do i get more time with a higher bitrate withe the 640x480 resolution and 256…med (rca default) got 30:39 640x480 resolution and 127…low (otu default) got 24.20 its not in order normal that seams weird. any way i used it this weekend on my car and i will post teh vid soon.

sprinter10 - what did you use for timelimit(affects video quality)? forumer.com/viewtopic.php?p=49982#49982" target="_blank">http://camerahacks.10.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?p=49982#49982

i used 225 or something like that? what should i set that as? idk what it is at all? i whanted the longest limit possible i thought. i forgot to turn the camcorder on durring practice i turned it on durring the heat and the feature but i turned it off durring a yellow flag and then when i whent to turn it back on it wouldn't come all of teh way on the batteries were to low. but here is the movie it was a quick throw together thing. http://s92.photobucket.com/albums/l39/slinger10/?action=view&current=5308hamlinspeedwayonboardmarksheata.flv

i used 225 or something like that? what should i set that as? The lower the timelimit the higher the quality. I've been using 10, but have never done any scientific comparisons. Did you follow the link up above which shows a screen image from OPS showing my settings?
