Driver Does Not Work
Well, my CVS camcorder journey has lasted over a year now. I believe I received the camera Xmas 2006. I have cut the case, soldered wires, installed a cord, installed the software(camcorderkit20), and it didn't work. After months of working with it I gave up. This morning I found it buried on my workbench, and decided just to plug it into my comp for old times sake, you know, the 30th time could be it! I got the USB device unrecognized message, so I clicked on that, and went through the loops to install the saturn.inf file. Unfortunately, after I tell it that that is the driver, it gives me this: What do i do?

i'm exempt here. i've contributed to the app, i've given help to others, but i'm primarily a linux user/developer. i took on the win32 stuff because no one else did. and it makes it especially out of my range because it's windows vista. i'm useless here, sorry i can't help.

Actually, XP. I can't stand Vista

well...hardwarewise, normally it identifying itself as "unknown device" means the cable is wrong/bad...as if your data pins were reversed. at the very least, windows should be asking for drivers for a "saturn" device.

That's what I was suspecting. I suppose I will unsolder the entire setup tomorrow, and just order a cable on ebay. I have destroyed this case with my dremel, cutting holes for usb ports and cables and such. Maybe I will just take the board out of the case and put it on a robot or something....... Thanks for the confirmation Saturnights, I appreciate it.

my only suggestion is to make sure that the connections to the USB are correct.
