External Focus Adjuster
Hey... Over the weekend I had a great idea... what about hacking the lens so you can adjust the focal point externally! You could set it to a macro setting and back in under 15 seconds! It only took me about two hours from start to finish... It is a very basic mod, but it is worth it! I plan to post step-by-step directions soon... for some sneek peak pictues go to (ignore the random pics and duplicates): http://samspicsnstuff.googlepages.com/cvsmod I'll post a video soon... Tell me what you think... -- Sam email: pannepacker@gmail.com website: pannepacker.co.nr

One of mine has the zoom lens assembly from a security camera. It has extreme closeup like a microscope.

Very nicely done! What did you use for the piece that attaches to the focus wheel? Looks like a small piece of pipe?

Re: lens
can the lenses be changed and install a lens so it can see infa red light? Zapped I believe posted some info on exactly was sixe the lens is on the camcorder's. I do not recall the size at all, but they can be swapped out with similar threaded lens. Some may have no filter and some may have easily removed filters. The best camcorder to get for the IR mod is a M200. The M220 and M230 are both difficult to remove the filters and you can easily damage the lens for good.
