$fa24 a most interesting register Mess with $fa24 and let me know what you all think about it.
I'm still experimenting with it.
Will share more later.
I'll bet it turns out to be a major discovery whoever nails it down. (hopefully someone else will jump in here and it will not be me)

For an "animated" splash and shutdown screen change the $05 at $A694 in the 6550_2B firmware to $04 or $08 or $0C any other multiple of 4.
Try any other numbers there for other different effects.
This is changing the value that is put into $fa24 which has something to do with the screen buffer or display.
You can change what is put into $fa24 in bank 2 and end up with a similar effect on various screens such as the preview or delete screen.
Here is what I found when changing the value assigned to $fa24 in function L21491 in bank 2 of the 6550_2B firmware:
$03,$07,$0b, etc. results in preview given when pressing display button to be off color and pinched in at top and bottom and sides. also shifts and discolors message "last picture deleted already"
$01,$05,$09 seemed to have no effect
$04,$08,$0C made display constantly changing like it was scrolling through memory. maybe we are on to the live preview
$02,$06,$0a gives static snow (or static static if you prefer)
