first-timer with a M410 - PV2Tool says "Can't find came Hi. I have been lurking around this board for a couple years -- got my first M200 camcorder back in June 2005 and I still use it regularly.
Anyway, for the first time, I decided to try a CVS "Red" camera. I bought a M410 last night.
I used the same cable as I use with my M200 camcorder - is this correct?
I used the key-gen tool to get my key, which I saved to a "pv2keys.txt" file. I have the PV2Keys.txt file in the same folder as PV2Tool.
I run PV2Tool2_libusb-0.1.10.1.exe (I have libusb.0.1.10.1 installed), and when I click "Open Camera", it returns a "couldn't find camera" message.
Obviously, I missed a step somewhere.. .the key-gen tool sees the camera fine, but PV2Tool does not... What did I miss?
Thanks!

Re: first-timer with a M410 - PV2Tool says "Can't find ok, I got past the "can't find camera" message. I hadn't installed the PV2.inf driver file.
I got that installed, and now when I click "Open camera" it says "Camera opened".
However, I've copied the hex challenge that PV2tool displays into my PV2Keys.txt file... and when I click "Unlock", PV2Tool says "Could not unlock the camera with any of the known keys."

What I mean is -- PV2Tools returns a hex string, which I assume is a challenge? I paste that into the key-gen tool, and click "Run Cr0nus Key". I save the output to a PV2keys.txt file in my PV2Tools folder. PV2Tools returns the error "Could not unlock the camera with any of the known keys". Is Cr0nusKey the right program to use to generate the PV2keys.txt file? The posts around this board seem to indicate so....
