Loading user generated firmware
I have a quick question. In one of the unlocking proceedures, we load a version of the firmware that has been unlocked and use that to update the stored version of the firmware. Does the firmware get evicted and reloaded when the USB cable is disconnected? What I'm really asking is it possible to -*test*-('") an altered piece of firmware prior to committing it to the camera? If we need to update the firmware on the camera with the new firmware to actually -*test*-('") functionality, I'm guessing a modified camera to easily force it into boot mode is going to be needed to recover from botched version of the firmware. Right? Can somebody comment a little on the topic?
