Mass Storage Works for 53.18 Like 53.14 under WinXP I found the "magic offset" for the m230s v.53.18 - hex 1ec014
so just entering the monitor command
"wl 801ec014 0xa"
and pressing "Playback" enables the 53.18 as a Windows-ready drive. w00t!
Drive is labeled "NO_NAME"
Seems to me that permanent unlocking of m230 ver 53.18 should be very doable.

Congrats I look forward to the next "Massdugg"

you beat me. THANKS!

First step for massdugg is to change a branch following delete 3 second delay (state change index 14 in CVSfan's post) to branch to index 10 mass storage routine.
You must have at least 1 video on camcorder for the delete key method to work!
For a 53.18 using just an OPS monitor command:
wl 8005e198 0x080178b4
Then press delete and wait past 3 second confirmation.
Can someone -*test*-('") on 53.05:
wl 8006003c 0x0801805d
Followed by delete and wait. Please post results for 53.05.
Note that the MIPS 08 branch instruction followed by a word offset (multiply by 4 to get hex offset) is easily traced in an OPS "download flash/unknown partition" sdram dump. For the 53.14 17888 * 4 = 5e220 which is the start of mass storage 0a routine (located at 5e4f0 in an OPS "download flash/all accessible" dump)
Now that the hardest part is done, can anyone update massdugg code to work on 53.05s and 53.18s?
I am willing to visually verify your code before any bricking attempts.

I -*test*-('")ed on 53.05. After sending monitor and pressing delete and waiting, the computer makes the sound (device out, then device in). It doesn't show under my computer but does pop up in device manager is a disk drive.
I'm running windows XP, btw.

I just got a non-M$ c compiler to work on my xp box. I am re-acquainting myself to c. I hope to get it working soon for 53.18 - then will try to make it user-select and possibly auto-detect.
