Motorcycle tank cam - backroading
This is a quick run down a popular country road. To counteract wind noise overload, I taped some folded up paper towel over the microphone. THis helped, but did not solve the problem. Later -*test*-('")s with more paper towel and electric tape instead of scotch tape sound better. Fox Creek

you might want to try this, it leaves the camera looking the same, and keeps that wind noise down at up to about 35 mph. any more than that and you can keep it down with some tape over the front

Thats on my list. Sound is better in later videos, check the profile on the putfile page if you're interested.

Only girly-men top out at 116mph Hehe just joking. That was pretty cool though. It must of been fun going though all of them twisty roads. One thing I never understood is why they put the brake resivoir right in the fairing like that in the sportbikes?

squash- 04-27-2006

Actually, the cam is several inches to the side, so the brake master cylinder is in full view. Later vids don't have it. They put it where it is becasue its directly attached to the brake lever instead of having random amount of linkages in between.

That is awesome! I watched the other videos on your profile. I can't wait until I can get my motorcycle endorsment (I just got my liscence) :D I'm kinda spoiled I guess with the whole cramped up riding position on them sportbikes. My master cylinder on my motocross bike is right in front of the front brake. But thats not really comparing apples to apples... (Off to ask dad when I can get my endorsement!)

Are you actually going over 100 MPH or is it 100 KMPH?

squash- 04-27-2006

ry.david: The one I posted here is the tamest one :) fox creek 2.0 is the quickest pace I have footage of. CamCam: speeds are in MPH

CamCam- 04-27-2006

The video footage must be deceiving on the eyes then. I swear it didn't look like you were going over 100 MPH. Let alone 130 in one of those vids.

E_tron- 04-28-2006

perhaps it's kilometers?

squash- 04-28-2006

Yeah, I've noticed that too. I'm sure sure of the cause, but all the vids I've done look slower than they are. It may have something to do with the windscreen in front of the camera. It gives a little bit of a fish-eye effect.

Any chance we could see a pic of the camera mount?

UnEmploymentDude- 08-28-2006

HAHA! I did this yesturday when my place was getting repainted, except I used a bike, as in a bicycle!
