Near IR Video
Following the directions for the night vision camera from ATOS I then added a visible light filter into the case in-front of the lens. I'm still experimenting. I'm cheap, so I won't buy a real filter. I've been playing with the diy ones I've found on the internet. Both videos were take outside. The plats show up white because they reflcet/emit more of the near IR (light at the edge of the visible spectrum). The sky was bright blue. This first one is three layers of exposed negative (you know the end of the negative roll that is all black). http://www.jumpcut.com/view?id=AEC42404536011DC939E000423CEF682 This second one is a single layer of an old floppy disk. http://www.jumpcut.com/view?id=B6111BCC536011DCB10A000423CF3686 I suspect the floppy is letting through more visible light. I've lost my light for the day, but I'll be experimenting some more tomorrow. I may need another layer of floppy disk, or I may combine film and disk.

I've never heard of using an old floppy disk, I like the idea though. Easier to find a busted floppy than a piece of overexposed film.
