Hey, which way in your guys opinion is the best and easiest way to waterproof the camera. The reed and magnetic switch looks kinda difficult so what do you guys think?

Would This work?
If i took the pelican case drilled the holes where the buttons were, stuck a piece of rubber over the buttons, then stuck metal rods where the buttons are to make it waterproof???

If you follow what i did there is no reason to drill holes in the case. the case i used is like new i just cut the liner.

Mines a bit botched... but it worked.
Just need to find a different power source.... But, for my next way of doing things i am going to use a more common waterproof 35mm camera case. with the camera upright (but upside down) with respect to the buttons.... and lastly this is how i did the rotary knob with a microswitch

I know how you made it waterproof, but how did you do the controls

Amyn- 09-16-2006

I know how you made it waterproof, but how did you do the controls He turned it on before he put it in the case. He put a piece of rubber eraser where the record button would be, in the case. Squeeze the case to start or stop recording....

I noticed at Walmart In the fishing section they had a clear plastic container About 4"x4" around $7 looked like a nice water proof case.

Summers here so I was working and came up with this I mixed http://www.rpi.edu/~bradfe/under/under.html and forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=2870" target="_blank">http://camerahacks.10.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=2870 I bought a clear 1010 pelican case padded it with foam so the camera fit snug to the front of the case and use an eraser to activate the record button when I squeeze the box. No adding wires and switches to the camera. I -*test*-('")ed it today at the lake and it worked fine. I might add some desicant bags for insurance, couldn't hurt. Cost Under $20 http://www.putfile.com/zac72blazer/images Enjoy! hay i was going to buy one from u, u said that an extra 45$ but u only spend 20$ :gripe: and im wiigamer10 that wanted to buy a cam from u

So WiiGamer10, are you suggesting I should buy, let's say, a Wii and build/install a modchip for about $275 w/ tax, and sell it for it for that price? Sorry, but that mod is going to cost you a good $70

Take an iron, place aluminum foil over the edges, iron the edges until they melt to form a perfect seal. Stuff a dessicant on top of the battery case. I had plans to use 1/4inch thick plexiglas that was sitting in my basement to make a waterproof housing. But was too busy. I'd like to see pics of a waterproofed camera, with accessable batteries, and a USB wire without using a pelican case.
