Now I got lots of videos, what Application to use?
Now that my CVS camcorders are working, I getting more small videos than I ever had before. There are various programs that play them, but I'm wondering how others deal with the problem of too much of a good thing, too many videos. What programs work well for managing a large number of small videos.

i usually just bite the bullet and arrange my videos in a file tree how i want them with a meaningful name. then i just throw them into winamp whenever i play them.

Yeah nothing beats having lots of folders with good names (and dates?). Having a "thumbnail view" on icons in XP works out pretty good too.

IIRC, Google Picasa does videos, but really shines in pictures. Kinda works nicely with the PV2 pictures and video files right there. Not sure if it can do Xvid though, I have my videos automatically converted to DV.

I usually organize by date/series. If I took 3 batches of images today, I'd have some new dirs that look like: /3186/1/ /3186/2/ /3186/3/

Saturn Video Archiver
You might like Saturn Video Archiver. This Mac application was designed to archive your videos in a variety of useful ways. Videos are automatically stored in the Finder in date-stamped folders, each of which contains the individual clips and a single (chaptered) QuickTime movie of the entire "roll." Videos can also optionally be added to the iTunes and iPhoto media databases, which support tagging and searching. Finally, there's an option to archive to DVD, if you prefer to organize you movies on a shelf. Below is a screenshot of the archived files in the Finder. More screenshots posted on the Saturn Video Archiver website.

Google PICASA is doing a transparent job, naming there mean renaming folders, good scrolling, preview and thumbs. My basic is to have folders like: \"data_place_situation\", eg 23_09_06_home_hacking_cvs_cam.
