Model 220 unlock message Hi Ry.. Great program! installed the OCS v.6 and all went well. In the OPS directory I run "Ops_libusb-0.1.10.1.exe"
Open camcorder works... then when I hit "unlock" it says...
"Camera revision retrieved from camcorder: 33.04
The challenge key was the same as response. Moving on to try known keys...
Checking if the Reset key matches the challenge
Last ditch attempt. challenge=response, but trying a regular unlock anyway.
failed to unlock camcorder
Failed to unlock camcorder with key retrieved from memory!
Sorry, your camcorder can not be unlocked with any known method."
Did I miss a file copy step in this thread? Thank you!!
edit..... its a model 220. fw-v 33.04

point it to your driver
Constantine13- 02-25-2007
point it to my driver? I can't that's the problem.... when i go into my system setup and hardware manager, I go to update driver from "unknown" to the supplied driver and says it can't find a better match as a posed to the "unknown driver"

"USB Device Not Recognized"
Means IMHO that you have a problem with your USB data lines (the green and white wires). Your camera is not talking to your computer. Check your connections.
Good Luck,
RayM

great.... i was desoldering the wires, and the contact for the green wire (on the camera board) came off, now what the hell do i do?

 Yes the readme is kinda shotty (and the same one since 0.1). I should of made it more clear.
It appears that the wizard worked fine for installing the drivers (meaning the 'Found New Hardware Wizard' shows up, then automatically does stuff). Try OPS and unlock your camcorder.
This is the part I need to make more clear:
- (Due to a Limitation in Autohotkey) I couldn't make the 'Sat' and 'PV2' buttons both say 'Add'. So select your program in the dropdown box, and click the button (either 'Sat' or PV2') right next to the dropdown box. Then it will show in the programs list.
- Checking the 'Drivers?' box in either the Saturn or PV2 section will install the appropiate drivers.
- Finally, once all your programs have been selected, hit 'Go', then OCS will download, extract the programs and drivers you selected.
For the Firefox opening up, I have absolutley no idea where thats coming from. This is the code at the very end.
ControlGetText, log, Edit1, ;Grab Contents of Edit Window
; GuiControl,, Edit1, %log%`n__________________________________`nFinished Setting Everything Up!
ControlSend, edit1, ^{End}, A
Run, %PATH%\One-Click Setup
Return
So, try OPS and see if it finds your camcorder first. And sorry for the shotty Readme, that will be the top of my to-do list when I get time.
Any more questions just ask,
RyanI get the same message but OOPs said it cant fimnd the camcorder

Does the camcorder show up in device manager okay?
dentedvw- 05-21-2007
Is this a good place to ask for assistance with OCS?
If not, ignore the following, and tell me where I should have posted. :)
I had successfully installed the camcorderkit20 on this laptop previously, but then there was a problem with the hard drive months later, the heads crashed onto the platters. A real bummer. Didn't lose everything, but that's another thread.
I am reinstalling ops, and libusb, etc, but I didn't have any luck following the directions I had from before. As I remember, there was something wrong with them last time, but I didn't document it and back it up properly. In any case, it worked last time somehow. I was getting videos off of the camcorder reliably.
Now, I can't seem to remember how to do it properly. :(
So, I downloaded OCS, and my install is different somehow. When the prompt from OCS comes up that says "Press okay when the 'Found New Hardware' Wizard pops up", nothing happens after that. No wizard comes up. How long am I supposed to wait? Hours? :)
I look in device manager, and the only thing that is listed that it could be is "unknown device". I cannot update the driver successfully, I tried that too, even when I point it to the right folder, it only tells me that it cannot find a newer one, better match, yada yada yada.
So... I am stuck. It doesn't say saturn anywhere. Last time, I didn't have much trouble, only a little, and I could overcome it myself, but this time it isn't helping me out much.
What should I do? Delete and start over?

I assume your cable is still working properly since it had worked before, but those symptoms are usually caused by a shotty connection.
You can try to make the drivers yourself using the inf-wizard with Libusb.
dentedvw- 05-22-2007
Yes, I assume the cable works as well as it had also. It used to work very well. Last time I had trouble, it was because the drivers weren't loaded. But, now I don't even know how to get it to find the drivers, because it won't recognize them. I could make another cable, but inspection reveals that this one is in fine shape, and connections are good.
*weird*
Plus, I am out of materials for making a cable. I don't have any more palm connectors.
