Ops feature request: selective button enabling/disabling I am planning to give a couple cams to my niece and nephew so they can have fun shooting video without worring about destroying an expensive camcorder.
These little kids are bright... very bright. They are 6 and 4 and are already pretty darn competent using a pc. The only thing that i worry about is that they might accidentally hose a cam by 'misclicking' or being a little too brave and experimenting with things they shouldn't.
Here is the request:
Would it be possible to selectively enable or disable certain buttons in Ops? For instance, something like a config .ini file. I don't think that it would need to be too fancy... the appearance of Ops would not need to change based on the config, but just whether or not anything happens when a certain buttons are pressed.
Just a thought.
p.s. Ops rocks. Thanks, y'all!

You could just give them an outdated version of OPS, after you make the cams have a reset key

Eh, not really. Anything older than 0.18 won't open an M230 or recycled M200, and anything older than 0.15 won't open anything newer than a 3.xx series M200.
I'm actually for the idea of a "noob" mode setting for OPS. Something that lets you use all the relatively safe features but locks out the potentially damaging ones (file uploads to non-movie partitions and flash image uploads).

If this violates anything, I will erase it.

Unzip it using winrar. Make sure Libusb 1.10 is installed.

Wow thanks for the Family Ops! It is the perfect program to give to family and friends! They can get the movies off the camcorder easily without getting confused, and can't screw up their camcorder if they get brave...
This is what we have been waiting for! thanks!
It may be not quite as good at compression, but it will open up just about every type of compressed file. Isn't 7z command line?
