OPS oddball behaviour... Hi folks,
I was -*test*-('")ing out a new USB port I soldered into my cam (220 33.04) and noticed a few strange things about OPS 20.
1) Using "Download All Movies" some clips have some severe glitches in them (heavily pixelated and odd colored checkerboard frames).
2) Using the "Download File" option from directory p0/DCIM/100COACH and simply downloading the PICT000X.AVI file seems to get rid of the glitches.
3) Last file recorded is always downloaded as the first MOVIE_0001.AVI.
For 1) and 2), does OPS use some sort of filter or alternate download method that may introduce the glitches? Seems like just using a mass storage type of operation to download the 100COACH directory would be simple.
A quick side-by-side of the files is available here: (video is of the BYOBW race down Lombard St - 1.66Mb)
Number 3) has probably been addressed before, but is there a way to fix it?
Thanks!

No filters in Ops, but 1) uses different commands from 2). We discovered "Download All Movies" first.
I'd guess that it's intruducing some extra non-movie data, and that's glitching some frames. It's worth noting that Mac people had reported that they had to fix the movies before they would play sound correctly.
Are the two files different sizes?

Easily, since it was caused by a bug. But the bug was left in because it people reported that they were be able to download recordings that were interrupted (eg.batteries died) with Ops, when they can't do the same using other applications.

even for me in linux, video is jerky. i need to run it through avidemux and let it rebuild the keyframes. that should help quite a bit. i need to do it with all of the saturn videos before i start editing them.

Thanks for the history lesson!
The two files are exactly the same size.
Is there a script that allows Mass Storage on the 220's yet? I'm hoping that the recent firmware discoveries will be of some benefit soon.
SaturnNiGHTS, before I edit my videos in Vegas Movie Studio, I have to run a small program call AVIFRATE.EXE on them. It allows me to change the frame rate from 30 fps to 29.97 fps. That gets rid of all the jerky and muddled frames.
But as far as getting the cleanest videos out of the cam, it still seems like Download File is the way to go for now.
Thanks!
