Please help with burningman.
I'm not clear on what to do with this program. I am under the impression I can unlock the camera using burningman without even opening the camera (according to bobbarker). It says "copy your key in to the big box". Where do I get MY key? Then what do I do with the result after I've run the program. I'm clueless. I'm missing something and the instructions don't make it clear enough. I've read the forums but I don't know the answer when I see it. I've installed PV2tool 2.19, I've connected with the camera. It tells me unable to unlock camera using known keys. My cam is: model 410, it has a red label. 6600 Type ID 2B Realm ID 20

Scroll up in PV2Tool, you should see a bunch of numbers. Copy and paste these into notepad. Remove the spaces between the pairs of numbers. Then combine every two lines into one. Now you should have 4 lines. Place a "C" at the front of each line, followed by a space. So: C Blah...code...blah C Blah...code...blah C Blah...code...blah C Blah...code...blah Now save this as burningkeys.txt in the same folder as BurningMan.exe. Run burning man to get: C Blah...code...blah C Blah...code...blah C Blah...code...blah C Blah...code...blah R Blah...code...blah R Blah...code...blah R Blah...code...blah R Blah...code...blah Copy and paste this into notepad and save it as pv2keys.txt Place pv2keys.txt in the same folder as PV2Tool Then run PV2Tool, unlock.

When I run burningmankeyGUI.exe I get this error: "input past end of file" Thanks for the help so far, now what?

Hrmpf...that'd be my bad then. If you've already got the txt file in burningmankeys.txt then just run the other .exe in the folder (burningman.exe...maybe just burn.exe) and you'll have to copy the response out of the command window. I'll poke around the GUI and see what's going on.

Thanks bobbarker, I tried that but burn.exe gives me the response: couldn't load burninmankeys.txt press any key to continue. so I don't know what to say. thanks for trying

KICKASS! I'd like to thank all who helped unlock my cam. Now I need to figure out how to handle the .RAW files. I believe I can handle it but any input would be appreciated. Thanks again everyone, wunnaB

I like pv2fetch to download raws and convert to jpg

I've found the best quality from the FF2 drivers. Note that these make your camera appear as a mass storage device, not that that's a bad thing. Unless you want to use your camera with PV2Tool again...

I still wish I knew how zapped got the key out of burningman. I'm not doing it right cuz I don't get the same result. Hmmmmf?

OK, I got it to work. I'm going to post this for newbies like me. 1) Open the camera and attempt to unlock. You get a response with an error. 2) Copy the list of numbers to a new .txt document. Remove the spaces between the numbers then combine every two lines to make one long one. Put a capital C in front of each line with a space before the numbers. Copy this to a new .txt file and name it pv2keys.txt and paste it in the pv2tool-2.19 or (whatever version) folder and if your camera is like mine it will unlock. Or maybe it won't. As I'm just a 44yr old wunnaBhacker struggling to make this work. My camera version is noted in the thread above and if yours is different it might not work, but that's how I did it. Good Luck!
