Problems In Mac OSX
ive looked all over this forum for a good how-to for macs with no sucess I have a 6550 PV2 red camera Mac os 10.3.9 so far i have installed libUSB, pure read and PureTool It shows up in system profiler but not in PureTool or PureRead Ive read somthing about hardware hacks but i dont know really anything about this... thanks in advance -sam

I've got the same problem, except my PV2 is a 6520, instead of a 6550. Hopefully someone who can help will notice the semi-bump this is, lol. Does anyone know of a way to unlock PV2s in OS X? Since there's no PV2tool for OS X, shorting the pins probably isn't helping us, but maybe I'm wrong, maybe there's an app that bootloader mode will help with...Thanks for anyone who can help out.

I too am having trouble and would appreciate help with a 6650 on a mac... I've heard of cronus, which supposedly has newer keys for a software unlock for the 6650, but can't find it anywhere and I think it's for PC... I can't find puretool either? Pureread was for the older cameras, right? Thanks, Jordan

Unless there's some other way I'm overlooking, PV2s have to be unlocked on a PC. You can then change the PID to FlatFoto2 (using PV2Tool's "Change PID" feature) and the PV2 will work on the Mac with RadioShack's FlatFoto2 drivers.
