PV2 - not being found in Windows I recently received an XP computer, so I've been bringing over the avidownload/mediadownload from Linux and now have both the command line version and the GTK gui'd version running in Windows. They both work with the camcorders, but so far in Windows I can't get them to recognize the camera. I downloaded pv2tool for Windows and it also doesn't find the camera. Hummmm....missing a driver? I find some information on the web about a libusb.inf file - downloaded it and made the mods suggested to cover the CVS red cameras. Here's the rub - Windows never seems to have asked for a driver for the device, so I tried manually adding it as a camera pointing to libusb.inf, but it says the specified location doesn't contain information about my device.
Here's a little more info if it helps:
If I plug the camera in to my Linux box it works. When I plug it into my XP box it never comes on. If I power it up first, then connect it, the screen goes blank and the "flash ready" led goes out after a few seconds. When I unplug, it makes the 2 descending tones like it is being powered off. When I plug it into the XP box the system never makes the upward tone indicating a usb device has been plugged in.
So, any one have any ideas on what I need to do? Once I get it recognized in pv2tool, then I can move on to the program I'm bringing over from Linux (same code, Windows and Linux!!).
Thanks
Dave :)

Sounds like you need to run the inf-wizard and get the driver installed. It's been a while since I have done this and I'll try to be more helpful tomorrow when I am rested.

I got a hold of the driver and got the PV2 working great with my code in Windows as well.
