BilW... Don't want to be pushy here (...maybe more like a fan requesting an onchore?!) Was wondering if you'd ever had a chance to confirm the Fetch drag and drop problem in XP (apparently NTFS format specific?)?? I think the program is great, but right now can only do whole cameras worth of processing and would really like to be able to tweak individual shots! Also, I've played around alot with the two sharpening options and it would seem like they might be able to use a little more bandwidth in that I seem to use the extremes (e.g. 0 or 100) on many pics??... thanx!

I'm kinda squeezed for time right now, so I probably won't get to it soon. 'Tis the season to be buried under end-of-year projects, family commitments, and all that.

I am getting errors trying to compile, starting with: Unable to open include file 'libjpeg/jpeglib.h' can someone post a pv2fetch binary?

BillW- 12-10-2005

There's 3 binaries - one for each common libusb flavor - included in the official zip file. Scroll to the end of the zip file, you'll see them. Otherwise, unzip everything and you'll see them in the first directory.

Thanks Billw. Were they there before? I downloaded earlier and extracted all files and there were no exe files in the entire archive.

BillW- 12-10-2005

They were there before. You must have had a ghost in the machine.

Great tool - no need for driver switching. Good pictures too! But it deletes camcalib.bin. A mute point if no one ever figures out how to use it and you don't want to pay CVS for better results. I'd like to gift some cameras with pv2fetch but if they can't create a cable or for any reason take it back to CVS - it would be nice if the camcalib file hadn't been deleted. How about an erase raws instead of format from the great and powerful wizard of recycling?

carpespasm- 12-15-2005

why not just put usb dongles on them? that's what i've done to all the cams i've gifted and set up for others to make sure i know they have a good cable and no issues with it later on

BillW- 12-15-2005

brite_eye, the format is better for the overall health of the cam, since it flags bad sectors too. If you're hell bent on preserving CAMCALIB.BIN, change HIBERNTE.BIN in the firmware to CAMCALIB.BIN instead. Gotta agree with carpespasm - I've put rat tails on each cam I've handed out and haven't had any problems. I potted them with epoxy and secured them tightly on the inside of the case with cable ties.

Forkboy Site
Is there a method to get into the ForkBoy site or is it down?

BillW- 12-31-2005

It's been down for a few weeks now. I think it's likely gone for good. Anything in particular that you wanted from it? I have some of the content - my 4 skins and the TFT utility - sitting on my harddrive.
