Sounds like you're having some trouble getting a clean copy of your firmware. Check your PM.

Follow the patches that correspond to your camera's firmware... Step 1 To change "auto turn-off" into take-a-pic on 6410 and 6430: Scan for "05 e0 0e". there should only be one instance. Change to "05 e0 0a" To change "auto turn-off" into take-a-pic on 6520_28 and 6550_2B: Scan for "25 e0 0e". there should only be one instance. Change to "25 e0 0a" To change "auto turn-off" into take-a-pic on 6600: Scan for "24 e0 0e". there should only be one instance. Change to "24 e0 0a" To change "auto turn-off into take-a-pic" on blue 6510: Scan for "20 e0 0e". there should only be one instance. Change to "20 e0 0a" Step 2 To change the in-between pics time, measured ~ as decaseconds on 6410 and 6430: Scan for "98 21 e2 18 e3 00". there should be 5 instances. Change to "98 21 e2 XX e3 00", where XX is the time you want To change the in-between pics time, measured ~ as decaseconds on 6550 and 6600: Scan for "98 21 e2 15 e3 00". there should be 5 instances. Change to "98 21 e2 XX e3 00", where XX is the time you want To change the in-between pics time, measured ~ as decaseconds on a blue 6510: Scan for "98 21 e2 18 e3 00". there should be 5 instances. Change to "98 21 e2 XX e3 00", where XX is the time you want Note to all - I haven't had time to check the manual patch with the 6550_2B, only with the 6410 red and 6430 red. If it doesn't work, it may sieze the camera up. You'll have to recover with a flash short and run+upload the previous good firmware. Any or all people attempting this - please report your success or lack thereof to this thread, along with the firmware rev you applied it to. I don't have my blue cameras with me at the moment, but looking at the firmware for 6520 28 as well as 6520 2F, I think we need to look for and change "20 e0 0e" since "25 e0 0e" is not found in the firmware. Also, on both of these cameras there are 5 instances of "98 21 e2 18 e3 00" In short, you can include the 6520 28 and 2F with the 6510 in the instructions and remove them from their place with the 6550. Oh, and I read the quoted versions of these instructions when searching for the time lapse patch and I didn't see the part about the 6510 until now or I would have tried that earlier. Maybe the quoted instructions could be updated as well.

I am on a 6600 firmware and I got six instances of 98 21 e2 15 e3 00 when I searched. Any help would be appreciated.

Patch them all. This camera has a lot of repeated functions because it bank switches and it keeps common utility functions in multiple banks. Your firmware model just happens to have the auto-turnoff-timer-compare function in an extra bank.

Ok, since I got two beeps after I tried this I thought I would ask here. This is exactly what I did. I have a good copy of the firmware from my initial backup so I was using it. 1. Made a new copy of the backup.IMG file called timelapse.IMG 2. Pulled the FIRMWARE.BIN from the IMG file using winimage. 3. Opened winimage in a hex editor. 4. Find and replace the first values (I have a 6600 so it was "24 e0 0e" to "24 e0 0a" and I found one instance). 5. Find and replace the second values ("98 21 e2 15 e3 00" to "98 21 e2 01 e3 00" for 10 second intervals and I found 5 instances) 6. Copied the saved FIRMWARE.BIN back into the timelapse.IMG 7. Open PV2Tool 8. Open Camera 9. Upload Flash 10. Upload the timelapse.IMG 11. Close camera Then I get two beeps. Did I do something wrong?

The camera checks the checksum of the firmware when it's booting. If it finds the firmware doesn't match the checksum it keeps itself in bootloader mode. That's where you are right now... follow forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=56>this howto to fix the cam. Then, instead of sticking the firmware into an image after patching, use pv2tool's "upload file to /" instead. Pv2tool will offer to adjust the firmare.bin file's checksum at that point - accept the offer and unplug the cam when it's done. You should be set at that point.

Thanks, I was able to fix the camera back to working unlocked mode. I just wasn't sure which way to put the firmware on.
