racing aplication hi i am new to this forum ive been looking at it for awhile. I have a dirt micro sprint car that has a 270cc dirtbike engine. it is a 2 stroke and vibrates teh whole car. The car can hit up 2 110mph on big tracks but i will prob only be doing 75 on the tracks around me. i have a underwater mp3 player thing that i got for free threw school selling fundrasers it is padded on one side and a sealed clear door on the other it is perfect for this i think. I will post pics when i get a chance. I have had problems for the last 2 years with my camcorder but i finaly had a friend unlock it for me andi figured out how 2 use it. i would never need over an hour most of the time it would be around 30 min a night of racing pratice heat and feature. what should I set teh resolution at and the max timer thing and the bitrate? are there anything else i should change for this. Do you guys have any ideas on what else i could to to eather the camera or teh mounting to make it handle the shock of racing and mud and dirt and rocks? mostly mud alot of mud. spray some wax on before i go out so the mud doesn't stick? I run tearoffs on my helmet but i wouldn't be able to do that for the cam. Ill post some pics of the car 2. i mounted an onboard cam before with a kodak 6.1 meg camera. it worked but did not like the dust and dirt reely messed up teh zoom lense for a couple months of blowing and cleaning it out. I mounted it high up below my wing it didn't get hit with mud but it was practice and noone was infront of me to throw much mud up. thanks

I've used mine on my dirtbike and I can tell you that you won't get more than about 10 minutes of recording time out of it. Vibration is a major issue as it doesn't contain any anti-vibration features, so isolating it from the vibes is very important.

thanks for the reply i have done some adjustments and made it so i can go 32 minutes on full resolution and 384 bitrate. the only thing is on teh way up to the race track i was trying to get teh cvs camcorder to work on my brothers laptop and couldn't get it to conect. it worked fine with some -*test*-('") vids on my moms. then after i videotaped 21 minnutes in teh race i was able to whatch it on my camcorder and i did non teh way home. but when i pluggecd it into the computer and go to download it sais warning movie 0 bytes and it just makes an emty icon in the file i put it in. but i can still whatch it on teh camcorder. what could be the prob? could something have happend when I tried putting it onto teh other computer i was changing all sorts of settings and stuff with the computer with the camcorder plugged in. even tho the camcorder never conected with the ops 21 and it just said could not find camcorder. I don't think it would have. thatnks

zero bite vids is an indication that you don't have a good (stable) connection to the cam. (Check our cable/soldering however your connecting to your cam)(If you want you could search 0 byte vids for more specific info)

ok thanks for the info i tried again and now it downloaded but it wont play on anything exeprt real player not quick time not windows and on real playing it is all jerky flashing from one pick to blank green screen to a frame aroud three seconds ago and back to a normal frame then green screen then a 3 second old frame it is reely fast and unwhatchable. what can that be? thanks is there sertain bitrate and resolution things that wont work? if so what should i go with i have no clue i thaught the high resolution and medium bitrate would be ok even tho teh most important part in a racing vid would prob be the bitrate so nothing gets blered.

i played all of the other videos from the cvs camcorder on my windows media player but this one just wont. is it a certain bitrate that isn't working right?
