RE: Wont show up on device list/green blinky thingy on board I have a CVS 'one time use' still digital camera. I appropriatelly aded leads to the USB thing on the board, and did the same to an old USB cable. I then correctly wired it according to the wiring diagram I got from the g4 attack of the show page on this topic. I installed both the LIB-USB and the OPS 020. I then connected the USB to the computer, as far as I am concerned the device show up as anything in the device list, however their is a mysterios 'removable disk F' icon that doesent correspond to anything I own. On the cameras circuit board itself a green light will shine with a 'beep'. It will eventually turn off, sometimes with a higher frequency 'beep'. Even when the light is on, it still wont work.
Thanks,
Travis
P.S. By the way, i didn't see anything in any instructions that I read warning ppl about the fully charged 25+ volt capacitator in the camera, darn thing almost made my hand fall off...

sorry but thats funny when playing with cameras that have a flash. its a GOOD IDEA to discharge the cap with a srewdriver or a wire across the 2 leads before working on it. the 300v cap for the flash will pop a 100w balb.

OPS is for the camcorder you will need PV2tools

In the forumer.com/index.php?c=1>PV2 One-Time-Use Still Cameras section you will find a how to....in the how to section...called forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=339>Legal Single Camera method it not only tells you how to....but , yes you guessed it it warns you about the bite that the CAP can give.
Warning: This procedure will not work every time - Do not use unless you are willing to risk destroying your camera. Be very careful to avoid touching contacts for flash capacitor - high voltage (over 300) can be quite painful and might start a fire.

Don't forget the 6000V spike used to trigger the flash tube...

re: complications ok so now i think i fried the thing. Its like making the turn on noise but the screen is blank. Maybe i hit something, maybe its fixable. Im actually using the thing for a high altitute weather balloon so im not sure i need the screen, but if anyone has any ideas, let me know.
thanks,

Try and take a picture and see if it goes. The "spike tube" is the flash bulb, it uses a spike of electricity to fire it.
