REALops, an attempt to bring ops to everyone (win/mac/lin)
Today, I am starting on a long and treterous journey. Many cams will be fried, many beta -*test*-('")ers will break down in tears, I will probably break my computer. I am poriting OPS to REALbasic, which is a scripting language that compiles for WINDOWS, MAC and LINUX. Any help/support is appreciated. Thank you and good luck!

Might it be dooable to port to PDAs (ones with USB Host abilities of course)? I'm getting one soon...but there are only one or two on eBay at any given time. Oh...btw, I'll beta -*test*-('") like I have been, but if (and when) I start crying I'll stop :P

If I could get the libusb driver ported out to Windows CE I think a super basic OPS would follow easily. If linux were available for it the job would be alot easier, I'd just need to build it for the proc (Toshiba TX3922 btw). *minutes of google later* There appears to be some BSD there...and one or two linux ports, but neither have USB support. I just need to hope figuring out the driver will work for Windows CE.

bobbarker & amyn: Thanks for the offers! I will certainly need you for this! A working release (open/unlock/download movies) is weeks (or maybe even months) away though. Sorry for my poor programming skills. Again, anyone who wishes to help on this is probably better fitted for the job than I am.

It's just software...shouldn't brick any cams...I hope. I tried compiling the libusb source for my PDA and it kept crapping out while trying to include stuff. I got the code that's there fixed (syntax was wrong for eVC). Now it complains about stuff like tcl.h which I went and downloaded, put in the folder with the rest of the source (worked for a few things like that) but now it just wont find it no matter what I do.

I had a gangsta call through service. I could call my house (via cell) then call out on the 2nd line. Made long distance cheaper but it was a pain in the ass. I've thought of doing a dialup kinda thing using my nice internet...but after thinking about long distance calling charges from a hotel/shitty speed I figured it'd be better just forking out the $10 a day :(
