Sigh... Great site but in a quandry Thanks for all the great posts on here!
I have succesfully built a doc, that seems to be functioning for my rite aid camcorder, however I am using vista 64 bit, and the lib_usb driver package will not install.
I seem to be stuck, do I need to setup a dual boot with a 32 bit OS to make this work? I could not find a 64 bit version of lib_usb for windows.
I have an OS X Intel based Macbook with Tiger on it, however I cannot seem to find the proper files for my camera.

Any assistance would be appreciated, I am setting up boot camp on the mac, getting ready to install XP on it, but would also like to use it on my primary rig, the 64 bit rig.
Thanks

You would probably be better off dual booting or using Linux or something. Because as far as I know, Libusb may never be unless it can get the required digital signature that Vista 64 makes mandatory for it to install.
Talk to some of the Linux folks here, it maybe possible to get your system working using a Linux live cd. Of course I don't know squat about Linux, so I'm just guessing.

You can turn off driver signing in Vista, if there is a version of a 64 bit driver, I can get it to install.

Nevermind, see below post. Don't kill your install!!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't Vista 64 use 32 bit drivers? You could atleast try it. Turn off the driver signing and run the Libusb install program under compatibility mode. It might work. I have heard that some 32bit drivers will work and some will not. All you can do is try and see...you might get lucky.
Yeah bad plan, LOL
I am currently rebuilding my vista install, thankfully I keep the OS partition pretty clean. The driver kills all usb functionality and BSOD's the system when you replace it, no way to boot again after a restart.
So, after a few updates and my adobe stuff re-installed, life will be good.

Thanks for the input!! I really had no clue...just a shot in the dark. I myself am on Vista 32.

Thanks guys, a quick VMWare build of tinyxp took care of it, camera is working well. Thanks, going to have fun with the RC planes now!
