What programs do I use on Linux for the Camera? Yeah, I have a Red PV2 that has already been unlocked and such and worked great in Windows. But I've since migrated to Ubuntu Feisty (and will upgrade whenever Gutsy comes out) and so am trying to do the same things here. Can anyone point out the steps to using the camera in Linux, and maybe package any applications as debs? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

heh...that's a horribly convoluted mechanism at the moment. i'm not sure who's working on that at the moment, actually. there is a pv2tool-for-linux in the sourceforge tree, but it's absurd trying to use it. something like plug in, unlock twice, fails, close app, unlock twice more, and download flash. then loopback mount.
--chuckles-- as i said, convoluted.

yeah... someone began to flesh out a pv2fetch, depending on time, I will have it ready in 1-2 weeks. Soccer just started for me, so that takes ~80% of my time, then school starts, so it will be a weekend project. And for mounting it, you need to copy out the raws, use DCRAW to get them to ppm then use imagemagick to convert to .jpg so its a little more confusing than it is at first glance. Sorry for the incomplete tools/readmes

yeah, i tried doing that...combining it with avidownload to just be a "mediadownload" app...but the unlocker was so retarded...i wound up trying to make it work via an external "unlocker" application that ran twice to see if that would help. it was a mess. thing is, it's just a patch for some other problem to which i haven't figured out yet. saturn cams are more my arena
