Java and C would be useful in creating UIs for hacking. How are you at wintel i/o? Touch base with BillW, our resident software guru for some good information. If you want to grab the camera by the gonads, uRISC assembly is de rigeur. When you go post grad, may I help write your thesis? I can see it now: "Zerted, Lister, et al on Reverse Engineering of SMaL uRISC ASIC Systems" Subtitle "The Encroachment of Leet Capitalization into Professional PaPerZ" _

I know Swing in Java, but have never done GUIs in C. I haven't done any i/o to devices other than from/to a keyboard, file, or screen. I'm afraid I am only a 2nd year college student, so I have a few years before my thesis and not to much expericence, but thats changing every day....
