You're welcome. For some reason, OPs held the key internally. Who cares, it works now.

PS: I saw that it was still reading the Steven Massaro key instead of yours, i figured something was screwed up, now it works!!!

I have been trying to figure this thing out for 2 days now and I came to a point of almost no return Evil or Very Mad

anyways....

Forgive my ignorance but, I'm having the same problem and don't understand what you mean by the 17 challenge/response thread. As far as I can tell, it aborted b-4 giving me any response.

OK- NOW I get it! This is one of those "special" cameras that are a PAIN to unlock!! I KNEW I shudda just bought the freakin Helmet Cam off eBay!!

thats an old code you have there... you can use cronuskey, burningman, or firedecrypt to get your key.

You could open, unlock camcorder then open settings, check the box that says Reset Cam Key (or something similar). That resets the camcorder keys internally so you can unlock on any computer, without the saturnkeys.txt file. I recommend doing this so there is no confusion.

When I go to reset the cam key, a window pops up saying something about uploading a file to partition 3, that file uploads can be dangerous, and recommending backing up the USP.BIN file before proceeding. Is this a normal response when changing camcorder settings (a.k.a. is this anything to worry about?)? Where would I find this USP.BIN file to back up, should I really need to?

I just picked up one of these camcorders, and found that I had the same problems as Jecka, namely the 17 challenge. None of the decrypters I found seemed to work, until I stumbled across the FireDecrypt program. That's the one that finally cracked my camera. Works like a dream now. I've even edited the splash and shutdown screens just for the heck of it. This cam is a lot of fun for 30 bucks!

when I load my OPS V0.21 and I open camcorder either 220 or 230 it says the following,

Connected to Camcorder. but I do not get the "found saturnkeys.txt and it will be loaded. and when I try to unlock I get the following,
Checking if the reset key matches the challenge
Last ditch attempt. challenge=response,but trying a regular unlock anyway.
failed to unlock camcorder
Failed to unlock camcorder can not be unlocked with any known method.
can someone help me? what am I doing wrong???

Thanks, I was using the one program that a folder bears your name, I read other post and still coming to the same problem. now if I use Ops camcorder reader 0.3 which looks simpler open camcorder which it finds then when I try to unlock it gives me nothing but 000000000000 and at the bottom says,
failed to unlock.

I am using a Pure digital computer, I took their software off and install a brand new copy of windows xp with sp2, what software can I use?
it comes with the PDT cradle.

Copy everything that is in the gray box where it said

We need the series of letters and numbers to help you unlock it.

Thats the thing, I dont get any series of numbers after it says that the camcorder is open and when I press to unlock I get that message.
